Capture-The-Flag (CTF) is an exciting, competitive event where participants solve a series of challenges in various domains of technology to "capture" virtual flags. These flags are hidden within intricate AI puzzles and security tasks, and teams must demonstrate their expertise to uncover these flags and advance through different levels of the competition. It’s a thrilling blend of problem-solving, technical skill, and creativity, aimed at bringing out the best in each participant.

In this event hosted as part of the GenCyS initiative, participants will delve into the intersections of AI and cybersecurity. CTF challenges are designed to simulate real-world problems, offering an immersive experience where participants not only learn but also apply their knowledge in dynamic and interactive scenarios.

How does Capture-The-Flag work?

The concept of CTF revolves around solving a series of complex problems that lead to the discovery of flags—unique codes hidden in puzzles, code snippets, and AI/security challenges. In the GenCyS CTF, participants will face tasks related to both AI and cybersecurity, which are highly relevant and in-demand skill set in today’s technology-driven world.

The competition is structured into two major rounds

01.   First round (Online)

August 15th  (Global)

This is the initial stage where participants can join remotely from anywhere and begin solving various challenges. It will be an 8-hour sprint.

02.   Final round (Offline)

September 5-6 (24 Hrs)

At UST Campus, Trivandrum. Top 100 Participants from the first round will be selected for the final to compete in-person with more complex, real-time challenges.
